Harrison…what can I say, he’s an awesome kid! You may remember pictures from Harrison’s first birthday not too long ago. Probably one of the trendiest dressers, and a boy after Marshall’s own heart with his little mohawk, Harrison is the son of our friends Sara and Ryan. He is so lucky to have parents who have stopped at nothing to offer him a wonderful life and show him boundless love. Although, they would probably say it differently- Harrison has made their life wonderful and made them love like never before! Harrison was born with trisomy 21, more commonly known as down syndrome. Like many other children in Atlanta, he has grown and benefitted through Gigi’s Playhouse. Gigi’s Playhouse is a non-profit organization that connects families who have children with down syndrome and provides the parents and children with resources and classes that have a tremendous impact on their lives. We were fortunate enough to be part of the annual Gigi’s Playhouse Gala where they shared the story of so many kids like Harrison, and how each one has a voice. It was truly a powerful evening, and one that we all enjoyed- from learning more about Gigi’s and the influence that it has had on such incredible kids, to witnessing Mayor Kasim Reed honor a high school student who spends each week at Gigi’s teaching music lessons to kids; from giggling at Missy’s celebrity conversation with Justin Farmer (a WSB news anchor, not even primetime), to admiring Mike in his Sean John suit; and most importantly, sharing an evening with our dear friends and supporting a family that inspires us on a daily basis.
